All comics are rated on the following:
Presentation looks at the whole comic in general by analysing panel placements, how
images are directed, speech bubbles, errors, complete layout and the total effect
the comic has on the reader.
Graphics analyses how the artwork is being presented by how clear and sharp the colours are and the general quality of inks, drawings and textures of the comic.
Story is all about how well does an issue engages the reader. It looks at the storyline by analysing if it has nailed narrative structure, humour, entertainment, material at hand, originality, risks, and interest level.
Lasting Appeal is a tilt factor. This aspect looks at if the reader will consider reading a particular issue again and again. Comics with a great story and filled with comedy will always score highly here.
Score is a brief sum up of the whole comic. It’s the conclusion of the review which asks the question, should you consider reading the comic and adding it to your collection?
All comics will be scored out of a 100%. The higher the score, the better it is.
There are awards given out to comics who score 70% and above. The awards are listed
as follows:
Comics receiving a score of 69% and below will not receive an award.
Score Outline:
If a comic exhibits exceptional elements it will receive an Editor’s Choice award.
